Camillus, N.Y. — After six years of gyros, spanakopita and enough “world famous” tzatziki to fill Onondaga Lake, Kiki’s Authentic Greek Food is closing its Camillus restaurant for good next week.
Owner Bob Cosselmon said the brick-and-mortar storefront at 64 Main St. will serve its final gyros the day before Thanksgiving.
“It was a good six years. Hey, we even made it through Covid,” Cosselmon said this morning. “I’m glad I did it. But good things come to an end at some point.”
The closure ends the sit-down era of a business that started as a bright blue-and-white concession stand on the New York State Fairgrounds more than 15 years ago. Cosselmon launched Kiki’s as a festival operation in 2008. By 2019, demand for the fair favorite pushed him into a year-round restaurant.
