NEWARK, New Jersey (WABC) -- The mother of two young brothers shot in Newark over the weekend is opening up about her heartbreak after police continue to search for the gunman.

The gunfire Saturday night on Chancellor Avenue resulted in five people being shot and two were killed.

The victims were identified as 21-year-old Kiyah Mae Scott, a mother to a 3-year-old child, and 10-year-old Jordan Garcia.

Garcia was walking home from a rec center at the time of the shooting with his 11-year-old brother.

His brother was also shot but survived.

Now their mother, Stephanie Garcia, is trying to process the tragedy while recalling the joy her son brought to life.

"Jordan, my silly boy, a poor soul, always happy...always a happy kid, happy to be around people," Garcia said.
