LEXINGTON, Ky. – If Lexington residents notice an increased presence of law enforcement on campus Thursday, the University of Kentucky Police Department is assuring them it is part of a training exercise.
The UK Police Department is leading a full-scale crisis exercise on UK’s main campus on Thursday, Nov. 20.
The exercise will take place from 9 a.m. to noon Eastern Standard Time.
The purpose of this exercise is to strengthen response systems to support preparedness and safety, according to UK.
The exercise will take place near Kroger Field, with responses from UKPD and other city, state and federal emergency management officials.
