SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - The Springfield Police Department arrested one person connected to the death of a person found in a dumpster outside an apartment complex.

Officers responded to the Old Monterrey Apartments around 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday for a reported shooting. The complex is located in the 3100 block of South Jefferson.

SWAT officers surrounded the apartment at one point this morning with guns drawn. They then left. Officers say they found a body inside the dumpster.

Police have not released any information regarding the relationship between the suspect and the victim or how the victim died.
