HINTON, Iowa (KTIV) - A woman from Minnesota was taken into custody after authorities say she led them on a high-speed chase in Plymouth County, Iowa.
The Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint at about 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 15, of a blue van traveling at a high rate of speed through the construction zone on Hwy 75 north of Hinton and passing other motorists on the shoulder.
At the time of the call, personnel from the Iowa DOT, the Iowa State Patrol, and the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office were directing traffic through a railroad crossing due to a malfunctioning crossing arm.
According to the sheriff’s office, the van did not stop for Iowa DOT personnel and drove into the lane of oncoming traffic and continued northbound through the community of Merrill.
