BALDWIN COUNTY, Ga. — Baldwin County Fire Rescue says they are responding to a 10-12 acre fire Tuesday afternoon, which is threatening multiple structures.
They say the fire is taking place in the 900 block of Sparta Highway. They say it is affecting a wooded area in the county.
According to the agency, they've dispatched Engine 5 and 3, Brush Truck 1 and 7, Tanker 4, Battalion 1 and Hancock Station 2 as they work to extinguish the fire.
The Baldwin County Fire Rescue says that people should avoid the area if possible.
Much of Central Georgia is currently under a red flag warning, which indicates a heightened risk of fires breaking out.
The release from Baldwin County doesn't give any indication about what started the fire.
