A nerve implant is helping stroke survivors like Debby Robertson regain some of what they lost after their stroke.
"Using all the strength you have so that you can maybe recoup some of what you lost," Robertson said.
For more than two and a half years, Robertson has been working hard to get back to her normal routine after suffering a stroke in 2023.
She explained her mindset, saying, "I can go two ways with this. I can be feeling sorry for myself and not try and just dry up and blow away, or I can give it all that I know how to give."
This determination is playing a pivotal role in her recovery, particularly as she regains her speech.
"The doctors didn't think that was going to happen. In fact, they told my daughters that I was lucky to be alive," Robertson said.
