Louis and Justin De Bernardi, co-founders of the Canadian jewelry brand called El&Elle are looking to build on the buzz around it and other diamond alternatives, positioning the gemstone as an affordable — but no less sparkling — option.

“It has more brilliance and fire than many traditional stones, such as a diamond. It actually has a higher refractive index, which means that it will have that much more shine,” says Louis. “We don’t treat moissanite as a second-choice stone, we’re on a mission to make it a choice that consumers make, not a compromise.”
