Springfield-based Baystate Health has introduced a voluntary separation program for non patient-facing employees.

The move is part of an ongoing financial turnaround plan at the Western Massachusetts health system, which Baystate’s CEO said would bring the system to financial stability. Baystate performed three rounds of layoffs across 2024 and 2025 , impacting 7% of its roughly 13,000 person workforce.
