Programs to aid high-risk pregnancies, stroke patients and families with premature infants would get $2.9 million in one-time state funds under a proposal that cleared a legislative panel on Tuesday.
The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences requested $2.9 million from a set-aside account in the state's restricted reserve fund for the High Risk Pregnancy Program, the Institute for Digital Health and Innovation's Stroke Program and the Following Baby Back Home Program, according to Amanda George, vice chancellor for finance and chief financial officer at UAMS.
George said the High Risk Pregnancy Program is an obstetrical telemedicine program serving rural hospitals, local health units, and rural provider offices to increase access to perinatal care services.
