Rescue workers are racing against time in southern Chile as they search for tourists trapped in a deadly snowstorm at Torres del Paine National Park. At least five individuals have been confirmed dead, hailing from Mexico, Germany, and the United Kingdom.

Torres del Paine Mayor Anahi Cardenas expressed challenges in locating missing persons due to adverse weather. Guillermo Ruiz, the presidential delegate for the Ultima Esperanza province, reported tourists lost near Los Perros camp, a site accessible only via a demanding trek.

The snowstorm, with brutal winds topping 193 kmh, forced authorities to seal off the park. Coordinated efforts with military brigades aim to overcome these conditions, with ongoing search and rescue operations underway.
