CHARLESTON, S.C. — A Charleston attorney and former South Carolina state lawmaker indicted on multiple federal charges linked to an alleged scheme to steal settlement money from his own clients appeared in court on Tuesday, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of South Carolina.
Marvin Rashad Pendarvis, 36, was arraigned Tuesday before U.S. Magistrate Judge Molly Cherry and released on a $50,000 personal recognizance bond.
A federal grand jury returned a 10-count indictment charging him with wire fraud, aggravated identity theft, and money laundering.
