From Oct. 9 to 11, the 39th Great American Beer Festival® (GABF), hosted by the Brewers Association (BA), brought together the craft beer nation. The largest beer festival in the United States, GABF offered thousands of samples and the most awaited competition in the industry, awarding 347 gold, silver, and bronze medals — symbols of brewing excellence recognized around the world.

This year, 24 Colorado breweries collected 36 medals in 108 categories from a pool of 8,300 entries. Colorado breweries scored gold in the Old Ale/Strong Ale (Left Hand Brewing), West Coast IPA (Westbound & Down-ID Springs) and German-style Oktoberfest categories (Glenwood Canyon), as well as capturing the event’s highest medaling honor: nine medals (Westbound & Down-Lafayette).
