President Donald Trump berated an ABC reporter Tuesday after she asked a question about the release of the Epstein files, calling her "a terrible person and a terrible reporter" and threatening to have the FCC look into revoking the network's license.
The combative exchange occurred during Trump's Oval Office meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
When ABC's Chief White House correspondent Mary Bruce asked the president why he is waiting for Congress to release the Epstein files, "why not just do it now," Trump blasted Bruce for her attitude and the way she asked the question.
"You know, it's not the question that I mind, it's your attitude. I think you are a terrible reporter," he said.
"You ask these questions. You start off with a man who is highly respected, asking him a horrible, insubordinate and just a terrible question," Trump added.
He then threatened to get the Federal Communications Commission involved, saying he should have the government agency "look at" whether ABC's broadcast license should be revoked.
Federal Communications Commission chairman Brendan Carr has been a staunch ally of Trump's and has launched investigations into several networks.
Carr also said to ABC before it took comic Jimmy Kimmel off the air following his comments about Charlie Kirk’s assassination that “We can do this the easy way or the hard way.”
