ELY, Nev. (KOLO) - An inmate has been found guilty on murder, attempted murder and battery by a prisoner charges in connection with a mass stabbing attack at Ely State Prison in 2024.

34-year-old Anthony Ribera has been convicted of three counts of first degree murder with the use of a deadly weapon, five counts of attempted murder with the use of a deadly weapon, five counts of battery by a prisoner with the use of a deadly weapon resulting in substantial bodily harm, and one count of being a prisoner in possession of a dangerous weapon.

Ribera’s conviction is connected to the July 30, 2024 incident at Ely State Prison that left three inmates dead and another five injured.

“The rule of law applies everywhere, including behind prison walls, ”said Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford .
