Federal funds that provide housing for people experiencing homelessness will be reduced by more than $3 million in Lucas County, potentially displacing up to 700 people who live in housing supported by the grants.
A notice from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development said the agency would be shifting funds to emphasize temporary housing programs, reducing the amount available for long-term, supportive housing programs, and touting the changes as “monumental reforms.”
