RICHMOND, Vt. (WCAX) - Police are working to identify who is responsible for a brazen break-in at a Richmond convenience store over the weekend.

Troopers say it happened at the Lucky Spot on River Road just after 5 a.m. Saturday.

The store’s owners say the thieves smashed through the front door and made off with more than $10,000 worth of nicotine vape pens and display cases.

The owners believe juveniles could be responsible for the break-in, but police have not confirmed that information.

The owners hope whoever did it is held accountable.

“If they’re minors, it’s a slap on the hand... Even if it’s an adult, it’s a slap on the hand,” said Linda Donovan of Lucky Spot. “I can give them a broom, they can come out in our parking lot. They can sweep. As long as they’re not in our coolers
