WASHINGTON, D.C. (Dakota News Now) - The US House of Representatives voted on Tuesday to release the Justice Department’s files on convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
The House voted overwhelmingly to release the files with a final vote of 427-1.
Congressman Dusty Johnson, who voted to release the files, said that his vote was about transparency.
“I do think opening these files up is going to get us closer to getting to the bottom of this story. I mean, it may well be that there are people who conducted terrible acts of evil, victimize these women who have not yet been held accountable,” Rep. Johnson told Dakota News Now.
Johnson said this could bring long-awaited answers and accountability.
