ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Sherrone Moore knew the question was coming about his quarterback’s turnovers, but chose to look at the positive side.
The way the Michigan coach saw it, yes, Bryce Underwood threw interceptions on back-to-back drives in a 24-22 win over Northwestern over the weekend, turnovers that nearly cost the Wolverines the game and a shot at the postseason, but he made some pivotal plays that helped the team, too.
“People will talk about the turnovers, but I hope people talk about that third-down throw to Andrew Marsh,” Moore told reporters on Monday. “Not just the first one that led to a touchdown, but that second one that led to the game-winning field goal. Or the third-down run he had on third-and-5 to escape to make sure we got a field goal.
