Germany’s Kessler twins have died at age of 89 by joint-assisted suicide, according to reports by several media outlets on Tuesday.

The deaths of Alice and Ellen Kessler, whose singing and dancing made them European stars in the ‘50s and ‘60s, was confirmed Monday by the German Society for Humane Dyin g (DGHS), said NBC News.

“They had been considering this option for some time. They had been members of the organization for over a year. A lawyer and a doctor conducted preliminary discussions with them,” the organization said in an English-language statement.
