The Trump administration announced on Tuesday that it’s taking sweeping steps to effectively gut the Department of Education by offloading grant programs to other federal agencies.
The Education Department said it signed six interagency agreements , meaning six critical programs will be shifted to four other federal agencies. The development marks the Trump administration’s latest move to essentially dismantle the Education Department, as fully abolishing the agency requires congressional approval.
