In a fight against growing antibiotic resistance among the Indian population, given the overuse and over-prescription of antibiotics, the Centre has rolled out an ambitious and sharpened strategy to combat antimicrobial resistance (AMR)—one of the world’s most pressing health threats—by launching the National Action Plan on AMR 2.0 (2025–29).
