In a stunning exchange in the Oval Office today, President Donald Trump said ”a lot of people didn’t like” slain Saudi dissident reporter Jamal Khashoggi and defended the Saudi crown prince sitting next him believed to have ordered the killing.
Although the CIA determined that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman ordered the Washington Post journalist’s murder in 2018, Trump took umbrage at a question about it and defended the prince, according to CNN .
Trump casually dismissed Khashoggi’s murder, adding, “things happen.”
Khashoggi was murdered at the Saudi consulate in Turkey, and it is believed his body was dismembered afterward.
