OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - A former Omaha Public Schools teacher convicted of stealing from a nonprofit is now being sued by the organization.

Angela Wolfe was sentenced a year ago for theft and received 3 years of probation.

Wolfe changed her plea to “no contest” and had a charge of Second-Degree Forgery dropped.

The Nebraska High School Press Association says that Wolfe stole around $76,000 while managing its accounts as the organization’s treasurer for six years.

An investigation found that Wolfe forged checks and used the NHSPA debit card for several unauthorized transactions, which included ATM withdrawals and purchases of groceries, food delivery, veterinary bills, online shopping, and even streaming service subscriptions.

She was fired in August 2024.
