Aaron Rodgers underwent tests on Monday that confirmed that he will not need surgery after fracturing his left wrist during the Steelers' Week 11 win over the Bengals . Rodgers is pushing to play in Pittsburgh's upcoming game against the Chicago Bears, but he must clear some hurdles if he is going to play.
Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said that Rodgers will have to handle the pain that comes with playing with his injury. Tomlin also said that Rodgers will have to show that he is capable of playing at an appropriate level.
"It's about stabilizing it, it's about making sure that he can manage the pain," Tomlin said. "That doesn't appear to be an issue, having been around him. And then functionality, and so those are the variables."
