Houston School District removes rifle from vehicle in school parking lot

HOUSTON, Mo. (KY3) - Houston School District leaders confiscated a deer rifle found in a student’s vehicle in the high school parking lot.

A school resource officer immediately addressed the situation and removed the gun from the property. School leaders say there was no threat to students or staff. As required, the district will follow all applicable Board policies and procedures in responding to this situation.

School leaders remind high schoolers that firearms cannot be stored in vehicles on the property.
