FLINT, MI -- An attorney for the city of Flint pushed back on claims that a police officer’s negligence caused an accident that left a bicyclist with a traumatic brain injury during opening arguments in a Genesee Circuit Court trial on Tuesday, Nov. 18.

Christopher Soper, an attorney for the city, told an eight-person jury that the 2020 accident that hospitalized Donald Cameron, now 58, for nearly a month with multiple broken bones, was his own fault because of his 2.31 blood-alcohol content and carelessness on the night of the crash.
