SALISBURY, N.C. — In the middle of a demanding NFL season, Atlanta Falcons rookie Jalon Walker used his lone off-day to return home and give back to the community that raised him.
Walker traveled from Atlanta to Salisbury, North Carolina, to host his first annual turkey drive — a gesture he says was driven by gratitude for the support he’s received throughout his athletic career.
“I got in last night. We have Tuesdays off, so I made it really important to fill my time with something very important to me,” Walker said. “I’m so fortunate and blessed with the platform I have to give back to this community that’s been giving back to me for so long.”
