COLUMBUS, Ohio — Columbus police homicide detectives are working with arson investigators to determine whether foul play was involved in a house fire that killed three people early Tuesday on Freedom Trail. A woman and a toddler were taken to the hospital with injuries.
The fire was reported shortly after 2 a.m. Neighbors said they woke to screams.
Jennifer Moore, who lives next door and called 911, said she woke up when she “heard a faint scream.”
“I saw the mom sitting here on the ground,” Moore said. “I walked out and she was speaking her language and I didn't know what she was saying. But, she pointed up at the house, that's when I looked up and I saw smoke,” said Moore.
