ROCKY RIVER, Ohio -- From the flags placed in front of Goldwood Primary School to the choir’s performance at Kensington Intermediate School, Rocky River students honored veterans in their community and beyond last week.

Rocky River City Schools marked Veterans Day with a series of meaningful tributes designed to help students connect with the sacrifices made by military service members.

The district’s observance culminated in a special ceremony at Kensington Intermediate School Nov. 13.

Originally scheduled for Veterans Day on Nov. 11, the event was rescheduled due to weather conditions.

The ceremony took place at approximately 8:30 a.m. on the school lawn, and proved to be a moving tribute.

The ceremony opened with a flag raising, followed by a performance by the Kensington choir.
