CLEVELAND — Two Cleveland-area Medicaid providers are among nine people indicted this month on charges of defrauding the program out of more than $530,000, according to the Ohio attorney general’s office.
Alayjah Terrell, 29, of Cleveland is accused of billing Medicaid $63,471 for dates she canceled services, while recipients were hospitalized and after being removed from service plans. She faces charges of theft and Medicaid fraud, both of which are fourth-degree felonies, according to court records.
In a separate case, prosecutors say Monica Dean, 46, of Cleveland billed Medicaid for full shifts while rarely showing up, providing minimal care or sending unqualified individuals in her place. Investigators calculated a $45,205 loss to Medicaid, and she was charged with felony theft and M
