LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - A global Cloudflare outage on Tuesday morning disrupted internet services for millions of users, including businesses and state agencies across Mid-Michigan.
Cloudflare is an internet infrastructure company that provides high-speed internet and cybersecurity resources. The outage left users unable to access certain apps and experience internet delays.
Laura Wotruba, director of communications at the Michigan Department of Technology, Management and Budget, says many entities in Michigan use Cloudflare services, including several state websites.
“In some cases, [websites] were down, and in some cases, it was sluggish. But it was wide scale enough, we knew that the cloud flare outage was a pretty widespread outage,” said Wotruba.
