Two men who were taken into custody after they allegedly followed staffers from the Colombian national soccer team in Fort Lauderdale have criminal histories related to burglaries and robberies, according to police records.
A Fort Lauderdale Police report released on Tuesday gives new details on the incident that happened Nov. 13, when a 37-year-old staffer had gone to the Galleria Mall with another team staffer to purchase iPhones.
They left the mall and were driving to an urgent care on N. Federal Highway so one of them could get their knee checked out when they noticed a black SUV was following them, the report said.
When they arrived at the urgent care they saw the SUV park in a spot and called police.
