LAKE CITY, Fla. (WCJB) -

Today, the president of the Florida Education Association toured the school’s Health Academy to learn how students are receiving hands-on training before graduation.

The program has been around since the school’s opening in 2000, as it prepares students for a career in nursing.

The academy is only open to high school seniors as they’re able to learn up to 22 nursing skills.

Students are now preparing for their next set of exams in January.
