PORTLAND, Ore. — Providence Oregon is set to lay off more than 150 workers this week in another round of cuts.

Those workers include caregivers at Providence Medical Group and Providence Health Plan, according to Jennifer Burrows, Providence Oregon's chief executive. Most of those positions, according to Burrows, are non-clinical positions.

"We’re supporting all those affected and helping them transition into different roles where possible. However, we know that some will be leaving Providence," she said, in part.

Burrows cited "recent policy changes and regulatory pressures," as well as the hospital network's need for financial stability, for the reasons behind the layoffs.
