The federal government tabled a budget bill with more than 600 pages of legislative changes Tuesday, one day after surviving a key confidence vote .
Bill C-15 provides additional detail on a wide range of measures that were mentioned in the Nov. 4 budget .
For instance, while the budget document pledged to accelerate the development of high-speed rail between Quebec City and Toronto, Bill C-15 brings in a new law called the High-Speed Rail Network Act related to that project.
The law would deem the construction of railway lines that are to be part of the high-speed rail network as already approved under the Canada Transportation Act. It also amends the expropriation process.
