Alberta RCMP say two people have been charged after hundreds of animals were rescued in October, north of Edmonton.
Mounties in Valleyview, Alberta, reportedly became aware that animals were possibly in distress at two locations of In The Woods Animals Rescue in Marie Reine and MD of Smoky River, Alta.
On Oct. 28, authorities say they took in hundreds of surrendered animals — including cats, dogs, horses, and other livestock — “in varying states of distress.”

Tuesday, Mounties confirmed that over 300 animals were rescued from both locations, saying many were deprived of basic necessities, including veterinary care and humane living conditions.
