BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko’s payday for the Aggie football team’s 10-0 start to the season was announced Saturday in a restructured and extended contract.

Athletic director Trev Alberts appears to have his on the way.

Friday, the Texas A&M University System Board of Regents will hold a special telephonic meeting, with voting to negotiate and execute new or amended contracts for Elko and Alberts on the agenda.

Detailed information of Alberts’ new deal was not included in the meeting agenda.

Alberts was hired at A&M on March 13, 2024, replacing Ross Bjork, who had previously departed for Ohio State. His current contract runs through March 31, 2029 and is worth $2.2 million per year in base salary, according to his contract obtained by KBTX via open records reque
