Daniel Radcliffe played Harry Potter across eight films, and as the book series is rebooted as an HBO series, the actor reached out to the young actor taking on the lead role.

In an interview on Good Morning America , Radcliffe revealed that he had penned a letter to Dominic McLaughlin as he took on the challenge of portraying Harry Potter in a television series.

“I wouldn’t say that anyone who is going to play Harry has to [reach out to me], but I know a few people working on the production,” Radcliffe said on the ABC morning show. “I wrote to Dominic and sent him a letter and he sent me a very sweet note back.”
