DES MOINES, Iowa —

More than 1,400 Allegiant Airlines pilots are picketing across the country, including at the Des Moines Airport, demanding better contracts due to unfair compensation and stalled negotiations.

"It's extremely frustrating," said Allegiant Captain Tyler Heavey, who, along with 40 fellow pilots and flight attendants, spent several hours on the picket line in front of the airport terminal Tuesday. They are protesting stalled contract negotiations with Allegiant, demanding better pay, benefits and working conditions.
