SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane’s West Hills neighborhood is bracing for the addition of dozens of new tiny homes as part of a transitional housing pilot project that was introduced over the summer .
Right off of Government Way and Sunset Highway, the 30-unit project called “New Roots Tiny Home Village” is getting closer to fruition.
This month, the Spokane City Council selected Compassionate Addiction Treatment (CAT) as the project operator. The property where the project will be built is owned by the Water Meets Foundation — formerly known as the Empire Foundation.
The city says the project is designed to serve people who are on a pathway out of homelessness, and particularly those who have demonstrated engagement in stabilization services. The city also says residents will only be moved t
