The US House of Representatives, led by Republicans, voted by an overwhelming margin on Tuesday to force the Justice Department to release documents related to the late financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The move marked a major shift inside the party and ended President Donald Trump’s long resistance to making the files public.
The measure passed 427–1, just two days after the president abruptly dropped his resistance.. The only “no” vote came from Louisiana Republican Clay Higgins, a strong Trump ally.
Within hours, the Senate also approved the Epstein Files Transparency Act, sending the bill directly to the president’s desk. The issue had created unexpected friction within Trump’s inner circle, even prompting public disagreement from loyalists such as Marjorie Taylor
