Distraught mother takes stand on opening day of trial against son’s accused killer

With the gentle creak of ceiling fans overhead and the hum of the air conditioner the only things to cut the silence, a distraught mother walked up to the witness stand inside the Washington County Courthouse on a mission of justice for her son. Kim Little forced herself to, as she put it, “relive the worst day” of her life.
