NT Police have charged a 44-year-old Alice Springs man with historical sexual offences against two women, including one count of rape, following an investigating that took nearly two years.
Police allege the first incident of indecently assaulting a woman occurred in October 2021 at an Alice Springs residence. The victim was known to the man.
Police said the second incident occurred in January 2024, when the man allegedly “sexually assaulted another woman who was known to him at a separate residence in Alice Springs”.
The sexual assault allegations were raised with police in February 2024, when the investigation commenced.
Police did not explain why it took 21 months to investigate the sexual assault allegations.
