AURORA, Ohio (WOIO) — A local nursing home with a five-star government rating is facing a wrongful death lawsuit from a family who says staff neglected their father.
19 Investigates found this facility has been cited for a number of issues in the past.
The family of 93-year-old Roger Andrews filed the lawsuit last week against Avenue at Aurora Care and Rehabilitation Center.
After falling inside his apartment, the typically active man was admitted to the facility in January.
According to the lawsuit, Roger fell at the facility three times within five days.
The last fall was fatal.
Facility knew of fall risk, lawsuit claims
The lawsuit claims staff knew Roger had a “high risk of falling” but didn’t properly supervise him.
The suit says Roger required 1:1 supervision at all times.
