HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Hawaii County is increasing efforts to stop the spread of invasive coconut rhinoceros beetles (CRB).
The county renewed a voluntary compliance order for portions of West Hawaii, in effect through Jan. 31, 2026.
The order serves as a temporary measure while the Hawaii Department of Agriculture and Biosecurity drafts interim rules for Hawaii Island.

All live palm plants (including coconut, date, royal, and fan palms)
Compost
Wood or tree chips
Mulch
Plant propagation material
Landscaping product
