LOUISVILLE, Ky. —

Louisville Fire says a lightning strike caused a house fire at a home off Brownsboro Road Tuesday night.

Crews responded to a structure fire in the 2800 block of Riedling Drive around 7:08 p.m.

Firefighters arrived to find smoke coming from the roof of the home.

Crews were able to locate the fire in the attic and began putting it out. Officials said efforts to quell the fire were a challenge because of ongoing renovations and multiple roof layers.

The fire was under control within 30 minutes of crews arriving.

Fire officials said the cause was determined to be a lightning strike.

There were two people displaced as a result of the fire, but no injuries were reported.
