Bangladesh's ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina's son Sajeeb Wazed said that they have not received any threats from the United States, while remarking that the new US government under Donald Trump has a different outlook towards the country.

On being asked if there is any pressure from the US government, Wazed is seen saying to ANI in a video on Wednesday, "No, we've not received any threats whatsoever."

He further noted that issue was that the US was the only country that issued a negative statement on Bangladesh' 2024 elections, "which our opposition boycotted".

"Other than that, the elections were regarded as peaceful by everyone. So there was no direct pressure," Wazed said.
