MERIDIAN, Idaho — This story originally appeared in the Idaho Press .
Thick morning fog and temperatures in the low-40s couldn’t stop hundreds of locals from lining up outside Meridian’s new Raising Cane’s for its grand opening on Tuesday morning.
Idaho’s first ever location for the international chicken-finger chain brought out the masses, with some staff claiming it was the biggest grand opening they’ve seen yet.
While the doors didn’t officially open until 9 a.m., the party was underway long before sunrise. By 4 a.m., security and staff arrived and security teams said they weren’t given an exact crowd estimate, just a warning that it was going to be big — and it was.
You’d never guess some had been in line for over 24 hours, thanks to a live DJ who got the crowd dancing
