CHEYENNE — The Laramie County School District 1 Board of Trustees took steps Monday night to oppose a new fee set to be implemented Jan. 1 by the city of Cheyenne.

Among other actions, the board unanimously adopted a resolution authorizing continued advocacy and potential litigation regarding the city of Cheyenne’s new stormwater fee, which they estimate will cost a total of approximately $230,000 for district properties.

In December of last year, the city adopted two ordinances that created Chapter 13.32 of the Cheyenne municipal code, establishing a stormwater runoff management system and imposing a uniform user fee.
